Wicking Garden Beds in Macarthur & the Southern Highlands
The Southern Highlands and Macarthur region, including Bowral and Bargo, sits higher and cooler than Sydney, with cold winters, frosts and a shorter warm-season growing window. Wicking beds help in a few ways here: the raised soil warms faster in spring than cold Highlands ground, the reservoir buffers plants through dry late-summer spells, and the tall models bring crops up out of the frost pocket at ground level. That extends what a Bowral or Bargo gardener can grow either side of the cold months.
Our Highlands and Macarthur work includes school and acreage installs. The projects
below show the larger-block character of the region.
