Wicking Garden Beds in Regional NSW

For larger jobs UrbanVeg travels well beyond Sydney into regional NSW, including Armidale and Uralla on the New England Tablelands and Gunnedah on the North West Slopes.

These areas test a vegetable garden hard: New England has bitterly cold, frosty winters and a short summer window, while Gunnedah runs hot and dry. Wicking beds answer both extremes, holding water in reserve through the dry North West heat and lifting soil up where it warms faster than frozen Tablelands ground, so a regional grower gets a longer, more reliable season.
