We provisioned a single, low lying wicking bed for a lady in Wahroonga who wanted to maximise use of a sunny spot on top of a retaining wall.


On the sloping Upper North Shore blocks around Wahroonga, flat growing space can be scarce, so putting a low raised bed on a sunny ledge or retaining wall is a clever way to use what is there. Lifted into the light and watering itself from the reservoir below, it grows a full range of vegetables where open ground would struggle.
