This nice gentleman has just moved into a property in Sans Souci and wanted to maximise a small suntrap in the corner of his back yard.

Sans Souci sits right where the Georges River meets Botany Bay, on warm, sandy soil that drains quickly and feels the sea air. A self-watering raised bed suits those conditions well, holding moisture down where the roots can reach it through the driest, breeziest weeks.

Even a small corner suntrap like this one will grow a good range of vegetables and herbs with the reservoir doing the watering. The kiln-dried, food-safe timber is chosen to weather the salt air and last for years by the water.
