This extended length bed was ideal to harness a suntrap at the side of this lovely house in North Parramatta.

This bed was not oiled as it will eventually be painted by the customer to match the house.

It is wide enough to get two or three generous rows of smaller vegetables or herbs.

Stakes could be added at the back to grow taller veg if desired.

A long raised bed down the side of the house is a smart way to use a narrow North Parramatta block, turning dead space along the fence into a productive growing strip. Its width takes two or three rows of vegetables, with room to stake taller crops against the fence behind.

With the reservoir keeping the soil watered, it stays productive through the warm months with little effort. Kiln-dried and food-safe, the timber keeps a long run straight and sound for years. If a narrow side passage or fence line in North Parramatta could be a productive growing strip, we'd love to design a long bed to suit.
