The last couple of years we have produced a wicking planter to auction off for charity.

The 2023 planter was purchased in aid of Kingsway Care by a gentleman in Mortdale.

These smaller planters are wonderful for salad greens, bush beans, carrots, onions and herbs.

It was installed in a sunny position and left filled, ready to plant.

A compact raised planter like this is perfect for a Mortdale front garden, and in the warm St George climate a sunny spot will keep it producing for much of the year. Being self-watering, it needs only the occasional top-up, so a small planter box can carry a steady supply of greens and herbs with very little effort.

It is an easy, low-maintenance way to grow your own in a tight space. Kiln-dried and food-safe, the timber is built to last for years out the front. If you'd like a compact, self-watering planter for a small Mortdale or St George garden, we'd be glad to build one to suit.
