This customer requested a long bed along her fence to make use of a sun trap for growing Asian greens and other produce.
The spot should get some good sun in summer, and winter can be used to grow potatoes and salad greens satisfactorily.
And the long length means many different crops can be planted in different partitions, each receiving all the water they need from the hose-filled reservoir in the base!
A long raised bed running along a boundary is one of the best ways to use a narrow Bexley North yard, turning an unproductive fence line into a generous growing strip. Its length lets you keep several crops going at once, each drawing what it needs from the same reservoir below.
In the warm St George climate this kind of bed stays productive through the seasons with very little watering. The kiln-dried, food-safe timber keeps a long run straight and sound for years without warping. If a bare fence line at your place in Bexley North or the St George area could be a productive growing strip, we'd love to design a long bed to fit it.
