A couple in West Ryde had a sunny spot they wished to make the most of with two wicking beds.
We installed wider capping on the long sides of each bed to give somewhere to sit whilst pottering in the veggie patch!
These were on a bit of a slope, and given our beds have a water reservoir underneath we chose to dig in one side, and raise up the other. Soil will be placed around the base of the high areas to ensure a good finish.

The undulating blocks around West Ryde often need a little levelling for a raised bed, and building in a wide capping to sit on makes the finished garden comfortable to work. A self-watering bed then keeps the soil evenly moist, so growth stays steady through the warm months.
