This is a prototype of our new narrow courtyard planter design.

These are now available, and can be built with legs for standing on balconies and decks, or without legs to act as a live edging around a deck or patio.

They contain a water reservoir like our larger beds and can be filled either by watering from the top, either manually via the rain, or by a hose attached to the base.
These beds only require watering around 3 weeks after last rainfall, so are great for keeping your salad greens and herbs watered whilst on holiday.


Narrow planters like this one suit the many compact Sutherland courtyards, decks and balconies where a full raised bed will not fit. Despite the slim footprint, the reservoir below holds plenty of water, so herbs and salad greens keep growing with only the occasional top-up, even over a holiday.

It is a neat way to bring a productive vegetable garden bed right up to the back door in a small Shire home. Finished in merbau and built from durable, food-safe materials, it is designed to look good and last on an exposed Sutherland balcony.
